Weather and Climate

Darwin City’s tropical climate means it’s always warm; the temperature averages 30ºC (86ºF)

October is at the very end of the dry season and can be quite hot. The wet season in Darwin starts around October/November and initially brings hot and steamy weather with the occasional spectacular lightning storm and short but intense rains. Temperatures drop a bit and rain falls increase as the new year approaches.

Clothing

Casual clothing is a mark of Darwin lifestyle. Pack light, comfortable clothing, good walking shoes and a hat.

Electricity

Electricity in Australia is 240 Volts. Outlets in Australia generally accept only V-shaped flat prongs.

Many hotels, motels and lodges have internet access. There are also internet cafes within the city centre.
