Marco Janssen

Marco A. Janssen is Assistant Professor in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, and in the School of Computing and Informatics, both at Arizona State University. He is also affiliated Faculty of the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis, Indiana University. Marco Janssen is interested in the interactions of individual behaviour, institutional rules, and ecological dynamics as complex adaptive social-ecological systems. He combines formal models, like systems dynamics and agent-based models, with laboratory and field experiments, and case study analysis. His applications vary from ancient societies, southwest of the USA, to modern social-ecological systems like Australian rangelands and irrigation systems in south-east Asia.
