Event Highlights

Over 40 scientists and practitioners from a broad range of fields in institutions on five continents are organizing thematic symposia and pre-conference workshops.

The Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, EGH, MP, Prime Minister of Kenya will be the honored guest to present the Welcoming Address on the evening of August 8th.

Invited keynote speakers include: Partha Dasgupta, Arjen Hoekstra, Zhu Dajian, Helga Weisz, Marina Fischer-Kowalski, William Beinart, and Charles Okidi.

Through ISEE 2008 in Nairobi, ISEE seeks to engage young scientists in developing countries, to further transdisciplinary dialog toward sustainability.

The Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen Award for an outstanding young scientist will be granted for the first time at the upcoming conference in Nairobi.
