Film Screenings and Discussion | Organizer: Leah Temper Trash is cash tells the story of Dandora dumping site, from the perspective of Formada, a youth self help group. The dump is a health hazard but also a source of income for the slum dwellers. Guests: Director Alessandra Argenti from the Kenyan NGO Cultural Video Foundation and the students of Formada (a kenyan community based organization from Dandora, the slum where the documentary was shot). Dongu Kundu documents the vitality of Kenya’s coastal region in the context of Tiomin Resources plans to strip-mine titanium in this ecologically rich environment.
